Mr. Vardan Aramyan

First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Office to the President of RA

Mr. Vardan Aramyan currently holds the position of First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Office to the President of RA, covering the fields of economic policy and Eurasian Integration. He took on this position after 6 years serving as Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia, during which time he was responsible for the fields of external economic relations, macroeconomic policy, and financial markets. He launched his professional career at the Central Bank in 1996 as a specialist first in the Monetary Policy Department and then in the banking methodology department. After taking on various positions, he was appointed head of the External Economic Relations Division at the Monetary Policy Department. He has been invited numerous times by IMF, WB, EBRD, BSTDB and EIB to be a panelist or guest speaker in different high-level business forums and seminars.
Mr. Aramyan has received various advanced training certificates from different international financial and academic institutions. In 2002 he received a letter of excellence from the Joint Vienna Institute for the best records during the four month intensive Applied Economic Policy training course for young policy makers. Since 2008 he has been a member of the Board of Directors at the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and representative of Armenia. Vardan Aramyan was awarded with a gold medal and the Anania Shirakatsi medal by the Prime Minister and President of RA, respectively, for his vital contribution to the development of Armenia’s economic sphere.
